Thurs 14th Aug 2008
We left Asda at 1050 for Malvern, Garmin took us there okay but the last bit was on B roads which were a bit narrow. We had to wait ages to be sited, the field was very muddy and apparently tractors were having to pull people out, we managed to get sited and get the awning up just before it rained.
After a bit of lunch we had a walk round the show and then had tea and took another walk to see what the entertainment was like, there seemed to be plenty going on in 2 or 3 venues, we were lucky and did not get wet. Game of cards before bed.
Fri 15th
Woke to lovely blue skies and sunshine, had a good mooch round the show, we bought some chairs and a table and a few odds and ends. In the afternoon V did a line dancing class then BBQ and bed.
Sat 16th
Rained in the night and grey and wet when we got up, it eased a bit and we got the bus into Malvern. Malvern is a Victorian town built on the hillside, lots of steep streets with lovely old shopfronts. We bought a German Atlas and phrase book and had a demonstration of bead making in a craft shop, felt obliged to buy stuff to have a go. Looked for somewhere to eat but it started raining and there was a bus in so we went back to site. As we walked back to van Rich bought a hedge trimmer he'd had his eye on. V did another line dance class before tea, we had to wear waterproofs and take umbrella it was raining so hard!.
Sun 17th
We had decided to go home today as it had been so wet but it was a nice morning again, we still packed up as we'd seen all we wanted and spent quite a bit of money. Left site at 10.30am called for gas and fuel before we got home at 1pm.
It had been a nice weekend, plenty to see and do, lots of entertainment if that was what you liked, Western shoot outs, and Native American dancing etc, good bands in the evenings as well, plenty of stalls, it was just a shame the weather wasn't a bit better. We saw two couples who we had met before, one at Stanford Hall 2 years ago and Keith who we met at the Mar Menor in Feb this year, small world!!
The site cost £34 for 4 night (we only stayed 3) and it was about 70 miles each way.

Stafford Aug 2008
As we had been invited to Julie's 40th Brithday party and there would be no room for us to stay at Margaret's we took the van to Dunston for a couple of nights.
Fri 1st Aug
Set off about 10Am and after stopping for fuel at Asda arrived about 11.30. We set up and it was lovely and sunny so after a bit of lunch we sat out for the afternoon.
We got a bit of tea then went to Stafford had an hour or so with M & B, Claire, Mick, Ben & Abbi before the party. Got back about 11.30.
Sat 2nd
In the morning we went to Penkridge market, as usual spent more than we intended!! We then went to Stoke to see Mike in hospital and back to Stafford. R & B watched Grand Prix practice while M & I sat and nattered then Julie came round and we went to the Luckpenny for a meal, long wait but steak was wonderful. Back at van for 10.30.
Sun 3rd
After breakfast packed up and home by 10.30
It had been a nice weekend with lots of hot sun but occasional showers.
Site fees £9 X 2 = £18 Mileage 40 miles each way.
